Gallipoli Beginner Guide: Objectives, Squads & Survival
Gallipoli beginner guide explains Headquarters objectives, Momentum, squads, suppression, stamina, and revives, with practical priorities for first matches.
For your first Gallipoli match, make three things your priority: identify the active Headquarters objective, move with your squad, and arrive ready to fight. This guide pairs developer explanations with practical learning suggestions. It does not assume you already know Verdun, Tannenberg, or Isonzo.
First Match: A Simple Routine
- Check whether you are attacking or defending and read the current objective prompt.
- Choose an available role with a job you understand. The class comparison is a useful starting point.
- Find your squad and a route with cover before leaving the spawn area.
- Reach the objective with stamina and ammunition, then do the task shown on screen.
- After a death, identify one thing to change: the route, timing, position, or role.
Treat this as a learning routine, not a guarantee of survival. In your first rounds, being able to explain the team's next task is a more useful goal than copying a highlight video's kill total.
Capturing Is Not the Same as Securing
The official Expedition explanation describes two objective types. Attackers must capture then secure the Headquarters to advance. Follow its construction or demolition prompt; leaving after capture can leave the task unfinished. The Support Objective offers a forward position but can be recaptured.
Objective locations can change between matches. Check the current markers before choosing a route.
Watch Momentum When Attacking
Attacker deaths deplete Momentum; combat and objective actions can restore it. Before repeating a failed push, change the approach or timing. Use your match display for current values: numerical examples in the original devblog predate release.
Stay Near the Squad and Notice the Beacon
Squads provide more than a list of names. Their specialization affects Officer support and bonus role slots, while the beacon provides a forward spawn. The squad devblog explains that an attacking squad has one active beacon: building a replacement disables its previous one. Defenders receive pre-placed beacons that cannot be rebuilt after destruction.
Our practical recommendation is to check the existing beacon before replacing it. A new position should make sense for the squad's next task, not only your current location. On defense, notice when the forward spawn disappears and adjust your route.
Why Your Aim and Reload Feel Different Under Fire
Suppression affects handling, not just the screen effect. The gunplay devblog describes increased sway and recoil, with stronger disruption as suppression intensifies. Reloads also have stages, so an interruption does not necessarily mean starting the entire action again.
If the same exposed angle keeps getting you suppressed, try a protected position and a different opening. Before pushing, check that your reload has actually finished. The trench guide covers the close-range spaces where these checks become especially important.
Save Some Stamina for the Fight
Sprinting, jumping, vaulting, and melee actions consume stamina. Fatigue worsens aim steadiness, and wounds can reduce available stamina, according to the movement devblog.
Plan where you will stop before making a long move. If you consistently arrive exhausted, change the route or use a covered pause. Compare how the weapon behaves before and after a sprint so you can recognize fatigue instead of changing sensitivity after every missed shot.
What to Do When Downed
Being downed is different from being killed. The official Downed State explanation says you cannot fight while downed. Remaining still slows bleeding; crawling may put you in a safer position but makes you bleed faster. Allies can help you back up, while further damage or bleeding out finishes you.
Look at where help and cover actually are before crawling. When helping an ally, first consider what hit them: rushing into the same line of fire may leave two players needing help. This is a positioning recommendation, not a promise that every injury is revivable.
What to Learn Next
Use the maps and screenshots to recognize locations, revisit classes and kits when you want a different job, and check the roadmap and updates for changes. If a match feels empty, the player-count guide explains why a Steam number and the players in your platform's match are different measurements.
